Point Richmond Pop Up

Hi everyone!

I have been so busy in the studio preparing items for the pop up in Point Richmond this past weekend. A new silhouette, the Tiny Collar Top, made its debut, as well as a few dresses I've been working on.

Thanks to everyone's feedback, I've ordered some more of the gorgeous turquoise linen, plus more of the golden ginger brown, so expect to see some fun colors represented besides my much-loved neutrals of black, grey, navy, and white.

Here are some lovely women who came to the light-filled Plantillo studio in the charming and quirky downtown Pt. Richmond over the weekend:

Emily looks radiant in her new cotton twill Temescal Tee

Cynthia scored the only Rockridge Wrap available, this one in a lightly felted charcoal wool.

Heidi looks adorable in her cropped Temescal Tee - along with pants she made herself!

Kate was the first customer of the day and picked up a new long sleeved version of the Temescal Tee just in time for cooler fall weather.

Steffi opted to wear …

Natural Canvas Rockridge Wrap

As the lovely Bay Area weather changes to warm windy days, I'm experimenting with my Rockridge Wrap pattern in a new variety of fabrics. Currently I'm in love with natural undyed lightweight canvas twill. It's 100% cotton and light, yet is substantial enough to make the pockets usable. This version is unlined for warm weather. Shawl collar can be raised up close for warmth and drapes flatteringly around the neck and shoulders when open. Sleeve cuffs are shown folded and may also be worn unfolded. Hemline is subtly longer in back.

I'm taking orders until June 15 for this item; please email info at dejaluxestyle dot com with questions or to place an order.

The Rockridge Wrap ~ $168 ~ made by hand upon order ~ approximately two week turnaround plus shipping time. Shipping $5 ground rate, more options available.
Fits best on a 34" to a 52" bust, length to mid-thigh, shown on 5'8" model below.

Milo Foundation Fundraiser

Wow, this weekend was amazing! I was one of many vendors at Goods For Good, a fundraiser for the Milo Foundation.

The Milo Foundation is a non-profit rescue, sanctuary, and adoption center for domestic animals. After being a volunteer dog walker there over eleven years ago, I met and adopted my soulmate puppy, Jupiter.

My daughters and I still volunteer to walk dogs and play with cats at the Point Richmond location. I love their mission and was SO happy to donate a percentage of my proceeds from this event to them.

There were so many creative women at Sunday's event, and it was such a pleasure to meet and learn from them all. I love our community of makers, who encourage and protect each other. It was classic - when other vendors realized that I was (a) a newbie and (b) hadn't had much business, they put on my garments and walked around to pique interest. I almost cried with joy when it worked, and folks came to look at my work. Seriously, the sense of affirmation one gets whe…

Goods for Good

Hi friends!
I'll have a selection of garments and bags available at Goods For Good this weekend, from 12 - 5 Sunday in El Cerrito at a private home. Please dm for location!
This is also a fundraiser for the Milo Foundation, an organization near and dear to my heart since I started volunteering there with my kids over ten years ago. There will be ceramics, handcrafted jewelry, fine art, home goods, and of course, apparel!

This is part of a new collection I've been working on and combines Japanese block print textiles with soft and drapey linen. I'll have a few of my boxy tops, kimono sleeve tops, and kimono jackets available Sunday, hope to see you there!

Hot off the machine

It's been pretty busy in the sewing studio these days. The (week long) feeling of spring weather got the creative spark flickering and I was super motivated to make loose and breezy blouses!

Additionally, I found some great odds and ends of fabric at my local fabric store and at the Oakland Museum White Elephant sale. Finding creative ways to use up leftover bits is my favorite kind of creative challenge.

This 100% cotton grey and white ikat is one of a kind and available for $50. Email info at dejaluxestyle dot com for sizing and payment options.

This is one of my favorite silhouettes! Very feminine and drapey, and wearable for most of the year here in the Bay Area. These are $70 and made to order in sizes S - XL in white 100% linen. More colors will be posted as available. Email info at dejaluxestyle dot com for sizing and payment options.

In keeping with my zero waste efforts, I'm making this little coaster for my amazing and kind co-worker Michaela using up all the scraps…

Lovely Weekend in Ojai

Here's the gorgeous Yosephina modeling our linen two piece outfit this past weekend in Ojai. Our next trunk show will be in early spring - dates and location to be announced soon!
Thanks for visiting! I'll be posting my designs here as soon as they're done :)
